Parajumpers Size Guide
Choosing the right size is essential with Parajumpers: too tight, and it compresses the down and loses warmth; too loose, and the cold creeps in. And as the fit varies from one model to another, the same size label doesn't always fit the same way. Here is the complete guide to finding the right Parajumpers size, model by model.

The Parajumpers sizing system
Parajumpers is an Italian brand that uses a European sizing system (EU/IT), most often expressed in letter sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL). The usual equivalents are as follows:
- XS = EU 36
- S = EU 38
- M = EU 40
- L = EU 42
- XL = EU 44
- XXL = EU 46
Italian sizing can come up slightly smaller than the standards of other countries, especially in S and M. The most reliable approach is therefore to go by your chest measurement rather than your usual size, and to check the chart for the model in question.
The golden rule: the fit varies by model
This is the most important point. Unlike a classic fashion brand where the fit is uniform, the Parajumpers fit depends on the model, because each piece is designed for a different use. The Gobi doesn't fit like the Long Bear. Knowing these tendencies helps you avoid a sizing mistake (and a costly return). To place each piece, see our overview of iconic Parajumpers models.
How the main models compare
Here are the general tendencies by type of piece:
- The Gobi: a fitted cut, closer to the body than the rest of the range. It generally fits true to size — but if you plan to layer a chunky jumper underneath, go one size up. You'll find it in our guide to Parajumpers bombers.
- Hybrid jackets (Nolan, Jayden): a rather fitted cut, close to the body. If in doubt, or to wear a layer underneath, go for the size up. See our guide to Parajumpers jackets.
- Parkas and down jackets (Long Bear, Kodiak…): designed with room for layering. They generally fit true to size to slightly large, without looking oversized. Details in our guides to parkas and down jackets.
- Soft shells and windbreakers: a cut closer to the body, generally true to size, as they are worn with less bulk underneath.
Between two sizes? Consider sizing up
For a down piece, this is the basic rule: if you are torn between two sizes, take the larger one. Down needs space to loft and do its insulating job; a piece that is too tight crushes the filling and keeps you less warm. This is even truer if you regularly wear chunky knits underneath. Conversely, for a lightweight piece worn over a simple T-shirt, your measured size is enough.
How to take your measurements properly
The most useful measurement is your chest. Pass the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it horizontal, over a simple undergarment or a thin layer. Don't pull it tight: the tape should touch your body without compressing it. Note the figure in centimetres, then compare it with the size chart on the product page (this is the most reliable reference, as it is specific to each model). If possible, get someone to help you for a more accurate measurement.
Checking the size is right: the test
Once you have the piece on (over your usual layers), do this simple test: raise your arms above your head and roll your shoulders. The hem of the jacket should not ride up excessively, and you should feel no pulling across the upper back or shoulders. The shoulders should sit naturally. If the down is visibly compressed across the chest or under the arms, the piece is too small. Remember to try it on while moving, not just in front of the mirror.
Indicative men's size chart

In summary
To choose the right Parajumpers size, remember the essentials: the brand uses an EU/IT sizing system, but the fit varies by model (the Gobi and the hybrids are cut close to the body, while parkas and down jackets leave room for layering). Go by your chest measurement and the chart on the product page, do the test while moving, and if you are hesitating over a down piece, take the size up.
