Recognising Genuine Heron Preston: An Authentication Guide
A figure of New York streetwear, Heron Preston established his own codes — the orange 'СТИЛЬ' label, the embroidered heron — which have become obvious targets for counterfeiters. Here are the checks for spotting a genuine piece.
At NB08, every piece is checked and authenticated in our boutique before it goes on sale. The method is set out below.
Why check the authenticity of a Heron Preston piece?
Pieces from the graphic-workwear era (2018-2021) are gaining value on the pre-owned market: copies follow, with details that are almost always approximate.
The orange label and the heron

The orange 'СТИЛЬ' outer label ('style' in Cyrillic) is crisply woven, with even characters, and neatly folded and sewn. The embroidered heron is detailed: distinct feathers, a fine beak, bold colours. Misshapen Cyrillic or a 'blob' heron: a counterfeit.
Inside labels and codes
Woven Heron Preston neck label, composition labels with product and season codes, consistent place of manufacture (Italy or Portugal). Consistent sizing between labels is a simple checkpoint that copies miss.
Materials and screen prints
Heavy cottons, dense screen prints with crisp outlines (often multicoloured and complex — hard to copy), even seams. A dull print that cracks in the wash does not match the label's standard.
Price and seller: the warning signs
A rock-bottom price and generic photos: be wary. Insist on macro photos of the orange label and the collar.
