Recognising Genuine Represent: An Authentication Guide
The hype around Represent — Owners' Club above all — has spawned its share of counterfeits, especially T-shirts and hoodies. The Manchester label's signature is a level of manufacturing well above average streetwear: that is where the check comes into play.
At NB08, every piece is checked and authenticated in our boutique before it goes on sale. Here are the pointers.
Why check the authenticity of a Represent piece?
Drops sell fast and resell at a profit: copies target the best-known designs (Owners' Club, gothic logos), sold as 'new' at attractive prices.
Cotton and cut: the Represent signature

A Represent T-shirt means heavyweight jersey (much thicker than a standard T-shirt), a structured boxy cut, thick collars that hold their shape and clean hems. Copies use thin cottons: to the touch, the difference is immediate.
Labels and markings
A crisp woven REPRESENT neck label, a composition label with a product code and, depending on the piece, an external hem label. The inside prints (size, care) are precise. Approximate typography or missing labels: walk away.
Screen prints and washes
The prints (Owners' Club…) are dense, slightly raised and durable; the vintage/washed effects are controlled and even. A thin print that cracks or a 'blotchy' wash does not meet the brand's standard.
Price and seller: the warning signs
A new Represent hoodie at half price should set alarm bells ringing. Ask for photos of the labels and of the fabric weight (the piece worn/weighed if possible).
