Recognising Genuine Saucony: An Authentication Guide
Saucony's return to favour on the lifestyle scene — led by the ProGrid Guide 7 — is naturally attracting counterfeiters. Here are the checks for telling a genuine pair from a copy.
At NB08, every pair is checked and authenticated in our boutique before it goes on sale. The method is set out below.
Why check the authenticity of a pair of Saucony sneakers?
The most popular Guide 7 colourways sell out fast: fake pairs are appearing on platforms, sold new with flattering photos.
The river logo and construction

The side logo (the 'river' with three dots) is precisely stitched or applied and symmetrical between the two feet. Even mesh, cleanly cut upper overlays, straight topstitching. Copies show logos with soft curves and poorly fitted layers.
ProGrid sole and cushioning
The midsole is firm and responsive, the markings (Saucony, technologies) are finely moulded and the outsole is cleanly patterned. Soft cushioning and smudged markings give away a counterfeit.
Inside label and box
Under the tongue, the label shows the reference, multi-standard sizes and manufacturing details, crisply printed — compare it with the Saucony box (identical reference, official colourway and size). Any discrepancy rules out a 'new' pair.
Price and seller: the warning signs
A rock-bottom price on a sought-after colourway, generic photos, no photo of the inside label: pass.
