Moncler Size Guide: How to Choose the Right Size
Buying Moncler in the right size is not always straightforward: the brand uses a numerical sizing system, often runs a little small, and fits vary from model to model. This guide explains everything you need to know to choose the right size, whether you are buying in store or pre-owned.

The Moncler sizing system: numbers, not letters
The first particularity: Moncler garments (jackets, down jackets, jumpers) are sized in numbers — 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 — rather than S, M, L. Once you know the conversion, everything becomes simpler. Here is the reference chart.
Moncler size conversion chart
| Moncler size | Equivalent | FR size | Chest | Waist |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | XS | 34 | 80-84 cm | 62-66 cm |
| 1 | S | 36 | 85-89 cm | 67-71 cm |
| 2 | M | 38 | 90-94 cm | 72-76 cm |
| 3 | L | 40 | 95-99 cm | 77-81 cm |
| 4 | XL | 42 | 100-104 cm | 82-86 cm |
| 5 | XXL | 44 | 105-109 cm | 87-91 cm |
These values are a guide only: they vary slightly between models and seasons. Always refer to the specific fit of the piece.
Important: Moncler runs rather small
This is one of the most common pitfalls. On many models, Moncler runs a little small, and the Italian cut is often slim. If you are torn between two sizes, or plan to layer a thick jumper underneath, it is generally advisable to go one size up. Recent collections, however, fit more true to size — this is normally stated in the item description.
How do you take your measurements?
To use the chart, measure yourself with a tape measure, without pulling it tight:
- Chest: pass the tape under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it horizontal.
- Waist: measure at the narrowest point of your torso, without pulling on the tape.
- Shoulders: measure from one shoulder seam to the other, across the back.
Then compare your measurements with those in the chart to identify the most suitable size.
Choosing your size when buying pre-owned
With pre-owned pieces, the fit of an older model can differ from that of a recent piece, and the label is not always reliable. The safest reflex is to rely on the actual dimensions measured flat (shoulders, chest, length) rather than the size on the label. That is exactly what we provide for each of our pieces: at NB08, every pre-owned item is measured and its condition precisely described. To go further, see our guide to buying a pre-owned Moncler wisely.
Size by type of piece
The right fit also depends on how you will wear it. For a down jacket you will wear over a jumper, allow a little room. For a close-fitting piece, stick to your usual size, converted. Our dedicated guides help you choose by model: the down jacket guide, the jacket guide, the parka guide and the gilet guide. Pay attention to the line too: Moncler Grenoble pieces have a more athletic cut than the main line.
