Recognising Genuine Fusalp: An Authentication Guide
Less widely copied than the streetwear giants, Fusalp is nevertheless not immune to counterfeits or to confusion between ranges since the Annecy brand once again became an essential name in chic skiwear. Here is how to check a Fusalp jacket or gilet before you buy, especially pre-owned.

Why check the authenticity of a Fusalp piece?
Fusalp's premium repositioning has driven up the value of its down jackets and technical jackets. Copies remain a minority but they do exist, and above all many old or dubious-quality pieces circulate under the 'Fusalp vintage' label. A quick check rules out most of the risks.
The tapered cut and technical construction
Fusalp's DNA is the 'fuseau' (fitted ski trousers): close-fitting, structured cuts with precise panelling. A genuine piece shows clean lines, perfectly matched panels and serious technical construction (stretch, membranes, clean rib-knit trims). A shapeless cut or approximate panelling does not match the house.
Labels and markings
The Fusalp label is woven, with fine, even typography, accompanied by detailed composition and care labels with a product code. The logo (badge or lettering) is precisely embroidered or applied. Spelling mistakes, smudged printing or misshapen labels: walk away.
Zips, finishing and accessories
The zips are high quality (often branded, with logo pullers) and smooth-running, with neat zip garages. Firm press studs, clean drawcords and cord ends, linings with no stitched-in creases. It is this level of execution, inherited from skiwear, that copies fail to reach.
Price and seller: the warning signs
A recent Fusalp down jacket is worth several hundred euros: a cut price with no explanation (a defect, a very old piece) should raise questions. Ask for photos of the inside labels.
