Recognising Genuine K-Way: An Authentication Guide
Since its premium repositioning and its collaborations (AMI, Comme des Garçons…), K-Way is no longer just the simple school windbreaker: recent pieces have real value, and copies have appeared. Here is how to check a K-Way before you buy.

Why check the authenticity of a K-Way piece?
The Claude 3.0, the Le Vrai editions and the collaborations resell well. Counterfeits play on the product's apparent simplicity — but a well-made technical windbreaker cannot be improvised. To see how the models compare, see our K-Way model guide.
The two-tone zip: the K-Way signature
The yellow-orange-white zip tape is THE house signature: bold colours, an even tape, a smooth zip with a marked slider. A tape in dull colours or badly sewn, or a zip that snags, are immediate warning signs. The embroidered or heat-sealed K-Way logo is crisp and well positioned.
Labels and welded seams
The K-Way inside label (clean typography, product code) and the composition label must be consistent. On waterproof models, the seams are heat-sealed on the inside: even tapes, well bonded, with no blistering. Folding into the pouch (on the models concerned) works cleanly.
Material and finishing
K-Way nylon is light but dense, with its characteristic crinkle and clean elasticated hems. On collabs (K-Way X AMI, X CDG), check the double label and the quality of both brands' logos.
Price and seller: the warning signs
