Recognising Genuine Ma.Strum: An Authentication Guide
Hugely popular on the British terrace wear scene, Ma.Strum is seeing its technical jackets copied more and more. Yet the rubber badge and the military finishing remain hard to imitate properly. Here are the checkpoints.
At NB08, every piece is checked and authenticated in our boutique before it goes on sale. The method is set out below.
Why check the authenticity of a Ma.Strum piece?
Demand in Britain has given rise to copies of very variable quality, especially of softshell jackets and gilets. A few targeted checks are enough to rule them out.
The rubber badge: the signature

The M badge on the shoulder is moulded in crisp relief, with sharp edges, firmly attached and perfectly positioned. On copies, the badge is flat with soft outlines, sometimes simply glued on. It is the first point to check, in photos as in the hand.
Inside labels and markings
Woven Ma.Strum main label, detailed composition labels and product code: the typography is even and everything is consistent with the piece. The inside prints (size, care) are crisp.
Zips, materials and technical construction
The zips are sturdy, often water-resistant, with high-quality pullers; the technical fabrics are dense and structured; the multiple pockets are set with precision, in the brand's military spirit. Thin, noisy fabric, lightweight zips that snag: a bad sign.
Price and seller: the warning signs
A new Ma.Strum technical jacket at half price should set alarm bells ringing. Insist on close-up photos of the badge and labels.
