Recognising Genuine Adidas Yeezy: An Authentication Guide
The Yeezy Slide is one of the most counterfeited shoes in recent history: millions of fake pairs are in circulation, often very convincing in photos. Here is how to check a Slide — and, more broadly, a pair of Adidas — before you buy.
At NB08, every pair is checked and authenticated in our boutique before it goes on sale. The decisive checks are set out below.
Why check the authenticity of a pair of Yeezys?
The end of the collaboration, limited stock, speculative resale: perfect territory for copy factories, which have been churning out Slides non-stop for years.
The EVA foam: texture and weight

A genuine Slide is moulded in one piece from dense EVA foam: a slightly grainy, matt surface, sharp edges, a sole with deep, regular grooves. Copies are often lighter or heavier, shinier, with soft grooves and slightly wrong proportions (an upper that is too high or too low).
Inside markings and size
Inside, the moulded markings (US/UK/EU size, manufacturing details) are fine and legible. The size must be consistent across the pair and with the box. Smudged or flattened markings condemn the pair.
The box and the label
The Yeezy (or Adidas) box carries a label with the exact colourway reference, multi-standard sizes and crisp barcodes: the reference and colourway must match the official model — which can be checked online in seconds. A reprinted or blurry label or an unknown reference: rule it out.
Price and seller: the warning signs
'New' Slides at €30-40 are fake in almost every case. Ask for photos of the inside markings and the box label.
