Recognising Genuine Givenchy: An Authentication Guide
Logo sweatshirts, graphic T-shirts, sneakers: Givenchy's luxury streetwear is widely copied. Here are the checks for recognising a genuine piece from the house on avenue George V.
At NB08, every piece is checked and authenticated in our boutique before it goes on sale. The key points are set out below.
Why check the authenticity of a Givenchy piece?
Logo pieces from the Tisci and Williams eras change hands a lot on the pre-owned market — exactly the segment where counterfeits thrive.
The GIVENCHY lettering and the 4G

The GIVENCHY lettering (screen-printed or embroidered) follows exact proportions: even letters, constant spacing, dense ink or tight embroidery. The 4G motif is geometrically perfect. Slightly stretched lettering or thin ink that lets the knit show through: a copy.
Labels and product codes
A crisp woven neck label, inside labels with complete product codes (style, colour, size) and place of manufacture (Portugal, Italy…). Givenchy typography is fine and even — any deviation is a deal-breaker.
Materials, sneakers and finishing
Heavy fleeces, dense jerseys, impeccable seams. On sneakers (TK-360, Spectre…), check the moulded markings, the quality of the construction and the size on the heel or inside. Approximate finishing does not exist at Givenchy.
Price and seller: the warning signs
A 4G sweatshirt at a quarter of the price is a trap. Ask for macro photos of the product codes and logo.
